Welcome!
The CUNY School Support Organization provides outstanding assistance to a group of middle, high, and early college schools that share a commitment to preparing students for success in college—meaning that a rigorous high school program and subsequent enrollment in college should be the goal for all students. At CUNY, the college-bound focus begins as early as middle school and continues through the college application and admissions process. Schools are connected to a wide range of CUNY resources, including partnerships, professional development opportunities, faculty consultants, research centers, and student events.
Some of our work includes:
- Project eMap - a web-based, totally customizable application designed to electronically encompass the process of curriculum mapping and management.
- Writing Initiative - a collaborative process for teachers to analyze student writing, adapt instruction, and measure student progress.
- Principal Meetings - a professional community that solves problems and shares best practices based on over 50 years of teaching and administrative experience combined.
- Special Ed Council - a holistic working-group comprised of special education, general education teachers, school counselors, paraprofessionals, social workers, and administrators focused on improving instruction for all students who have special needs.
- College-Readiness Advisory Curriculum - a curriculum rooted in David T. Conley's facets of college-readiness that aligns high school experiences with college expectations.
- Early College Retreat - an annual professional development conference of early college schools that allows schools to participate in cross-school dialogue and develop curriculum scope and sequence plans.

What's New?
Make SSO Selection
All schools / Deadline May 1The deadline to make your school support organization (SSO) selection is May 1. You may choose either to renew your current SSO or choose a different SSO. Use the online SSO selection tool to submit your decision. You can also indicate a preference for your network affiliation when you select your SSO. SSOs will facilitate your affiliation with a network after SSO matches are finalized in May.
Visit the Principals’ Portal for detailed information about the selection process and resources that will help you explore your SSO options. For each SSO, you can review:
- descriptive profiles
- data on achievement, principal satisfaction, and school composition
- a calendar of learning opportunities hosted by individual SSOs
You should carefully review this information and discuss your options with key members of your school community, including your School Leadership Team, before making a decision.
If you have questions, please contact your SSO or the Office of School Support at SchoolSupport@schools.nyc.gov.
